A midterm election is an election that occurs halfway through a president's term in office, typically held in the United States every four years. During midterm elections, voters have the opportunity to elect members of Congress, including all 435 members of the House of Representatives and one-third of the 100 members of the Senate. Additionally, many state and local offices may also be up for election during this time. Midterm elections are important as they can shift the balance of power in Congress and have a significant impact on the political landscape. **

A midterm grade is a grade given to students at the midpoint of a course or academic term. It is used to assess a student's progress and performance up to that point in the course. Midterm grades can provide students with an indication of how they are doing and can help them make any necessary adjustments to improve their performance for the remainder of the term. These grades are often used by instructors and academic advisors to identify students who may be struggling and provide them with additional support. **
